Multi country exhibitors gather at Shanghai Autumn/Winter Home Textile Exhibition

China Daily, August 22 (Reporter Zhong Nan) Recently, the largest home textile trade exhibition in Asia, the China International Home Textile and Accessories (Autumn/Winter) Expo (Shanghai Autumn/Winter Home Textile Exhibition), opened at the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai). More than 900 exhibitors and their products from 15 countries and regions have attracted buyers from 75 countries and regions around the world. This exhibition has once again become an important procurement platform for industry professionals to establish deep industry cooperation and exchange market information.
The exhibition area of this Shanghai Autumn/Winter Home Textile Exhibition is 100000 square meters, with four exhibition halls, including 14 product zones such as bedding, overseas imported fabrics, and designer salons. Among them, themes such as sustainability and environmental protection run through the product lines of each exhibitor. According to the organizer's introduction, the number and source countries of designers who came to participate in this year's exhibition have exceeded the scale of previous years.
Wen Ting, Managing Director of Frankfurt Exhibition (Hong Kong) Limited, stated that 20% of this year's participating companies are overseas exhibitors. Among them, 15 countries and regions including India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, and Morocco sent 11 international buyer delegations, highlighting the growing market demand both domestically and internationally.
According to data from the General Administration of Customs, in the first half of 2024, China's exports of household textiles amounted to 22.99 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 4.41%. Since May, the export value of this category of products has achieved double-digit growth year-on-year: a year-on-year increase of 11.3% in May and 10.42% in June. In terms of categories, China's exports of bedding, fabric products, carpets, rugs, and kitchen textiles have all achieved growth.
At Hall 6.1 of the exhibition, trend designers introduced the core design concept of 'Healing Home' in the 2025 home fashion trend, and local designers brought insights and discoveries into fashion trends. Designer Zhou Zhou, who is attending the exhibition for the second time, believes that the digital economy has brought many opportunities for design, such as the application of intelligent technology, the development of VR and AR technology, and the promotion of sustainable design, all of which will become powerful tools to improve efficiency. What designers need to do is constantly explore and practice, and embrace these changes with a more open attitude.
